Overall Criteria

  1. Applicants must be an active member in good standing.
  2. For Master's and Doctoral Awards, the student must be currently enrolled and demonstrate an ability in their graduate study, interested and competent in research. The student must show potential for professional leadership. 
  3. Three recommendations will be required. You may use this FORM

Stipulations

  1. Any project approved for funding by KON shall be appropriately identified as follows, Supported in whole or in part by Kappa Omicron Nu.
  2. No project involving human subjects will be funded without documentation of IRB approval, though it is permitted to apply for projects if you document IRB progress toward approval. 
  3. Awards are made at the discretion of the Awards Committee and the KON Board of Directors. The KON Board may decline to make an award. 
  4. Reports from each recipient are due to the KON office by June 1 of the following year. 
  5. Scholarship/Fellowship/Research Awards are made directly to the student; the funds are exempt from 1099 reporting. 
  6. Chapter Grants are paid to the chapter.
