Member Spotlight - June 2014
Megan Jackson graduated in August, 2013, from Eastern Illinois University (EIU) receiving her Master's degree in Gerontology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in Business Administration from EIU as well. While attending EIU she began her journey with Kappa Omicron Nu's Kappa Alpha Theta chapter as the Advisory Board representative. Megan continued her leadership role by taking the position of chapter president.
When the opportunity presented itself, and with the guidance and support of her chapter advisors, she took on the role that she currently holds as a national KON Student Board Member. Honors she has received include: EIU Top Black achiever recipient, Ona Norton scholarship, Outstanding Senior award, Donna Lynn Connelly scholarship, and recognition on the Dean's list. Currently Megan is a Senior Services Case Manager with the Center on Halsted. Center on Halsted is the Midwest's most comprehensive community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) people of Chicagoland.
