Member Spotlight - March 2011
Julian Andrew Trivino is a National Student Board Member of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society as well as serves in the Florida State University College of Human Sciences Alumni Board.
Trivino earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from The Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. He graduated with Honors as an undergraduate and was offered a position as a Teaching Assistant and consequently a full scholarship into the Master’s in Exercise Physiology program. During his time in the graduate program he participated in several community service activities in and around the Tallahassee area. He was inducted into the Dr. Hortense Glenn Society as a first year Master’s Student. This society recognizes no more than the top 1% of students in the College of Human Sciences per year who exhibit outstanding leadership and service while maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
Trivino has shown great commitment and dedication to community service working alongside the American Heart Association and Tallahassee Senior Center to raise awareness for cardiovascular diseases. For two consecutive years his team earned the highest team fundraiser as well as individual fundraiser award for the FSU College of Human Sciences. In addition, he singlehandedly organized a fundraiser that raised over $2,500 for a community member in need of a new wheelchair. Trivino hopes to begin medical school in the Fall of 2011 and make his commitment to community service a lifelong career.
