Yudan Chen Wang
Yudan Chen Wang, M.S., is a doctoral student of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently working on her dissertation entitled “Everyday Representations of Confucianism in Urban China: Parents’ and Adolescents’ Attitudes and Behaviors in Handling Authority Issues”, which is funded by the Omicron Nu Doctoral Research Fellowship. This past spring she collected interview data from 16 families and survey data from approximately 700 adolescent children and their parents in China. She plans to use these data to explore topics related to parenting, parent–adolescent relations, adolescent psychosocial wellbeing, and social class variability in family relations among families residing in urban China.
Yudan is a dedicated researcher and a passionate teacher. She is teaching an undergraduate class on lifespan development and working on various research projects this semester. She hopes to become a college professor who can effectively guide students in the process of knowledge discovery and self-development.
